Bad Habits that Damage the Eyesight

Many of us ask ourselves why at the end of the day our eyes hurt if we do not believe we have forced our eyes. However, there is a series of daily habits that we carry out and that without realizing it are damaging our eyesight.

First of all, we should not rub our eyes. Although this gesture relaxes us and relieves the tension we have when we are stressed or tired, it can produce an infection if we have dirty hands or we can damage the cornea by pressing too hard on the eye area.


Another key to keep in mind is that it is not good to read when we travel, because of the sensation of movement. On many occasions, we carry books to spend the time we are on the bus or in the car, but this can make our eyesight get tired faster and we can become dizzy.

This is directly related to the lighting. We must make sure that we start reading in a place with enough light. Otherwise, we will force the view too much and we will get tired faster.

Another of the bad habits to which we expose ourselves is also linked to enlightenment. Although they are very fashionable, LED lights can make our retina look really damaged in the long term. The same goes for prolonged exposure to the sun's rays and computer screens. Therefore, even if we work in an office, it is recommended to rest your eyes from time to time.


Worst Food for Eye Health

Our eating habits also have an influence on our eyes. And is that eating foods that increase our cholesterol or have a high content of sugars can harm us in such a way that we may end up suffering from blindness. The same happens if we consume too much acetylsalicylic acid, contained in aspirin and other drugs, because it promotes muscle degeneration.

The last bad habit, which is difficult to remove, is tobacco. The smoke it releases causes the retina to degenerate and suffer much damage. This is more nail in the passive smokers, who receive the smoke that expel the assets.

Now that we know what our bad habits are, we have no excuse to avoid them and protect our eyes from the harms we expose them to on a daily basis.
